
Women’s Tennis Hosts St. John’s, USF This Weekend

Blue Demons return to XS Tennis Village Friday and Saturday
CHICAGO – DePaul women's tennis returns to Chicago for a pair of matches Friday and Saturday in its penultimate weekend of home competition when St. John's and South Florida come to town.
The Blue Demons will take on the Red Storm Friday, March 21 at 12:30 p.m. before facing off against USF on Saturday, March 22 with first serve set for 1:30 p.m. Fans can follow both matches with streaming on Track Tennis and live scoring available via StatBroadcast.
After a week off, DePaul looks to extend its five-match win streak while remaining unbeaten at home and in matches against BIG EAST opponents. Last time out, the Blue Demons earned a pair of 7-0 sweeps over Marquette and Butler, March 7-8. DePaul has won the doubles point in nine of its last 10 matches behind No. 54-ranked duo Hannah Smith and Eva Goncharov. The pair is 9-2 on court one this season and have won eight in a row en route to four BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week honors. In singles action, sophomore Sasha Stula has shined with a 9-2 record in 2025 while winning her last six matches.
St. John's is 9-4 on the dual season and have won two in a row after decisive victories over Seton Hall and Hofstra last weekend. Freshman Giulia Bizzarri is 6-0 in singles play this spring. Lauren Leo is in her 10th season leading the Red Storm program.
USF enters the weekend 5-12 this spring and have lost three in a row after losses to a pair of ranked opponents in Florida Atlantic and Wichita State in the past four days. Junior Melisa Senli is 7-3 at No. 1 singles in 2025. Head coach Cristina Moros has led the Bulls program for 10 seasons.
The Blue Demons will hit the road next weekend to take on four-time defending BIG EAST Champions, Xavier, on Saturday, March 29.
