Blue Demons open seven-game road swing in New York
CHICAGO – DePaul softball begins a seven-game road swing when they travel to Queens, New York to face the St. John's Red Storm. The sides will now play a doubleheader Friday, April 4, with the first pitch of game one slated for 11 a.m. CT, and the second game to follow approximately 30 minutes following its conclusion. The third and final game of the series is set for 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, April 5.
Friday's doubleheader will stream on FloCollege, while fans can listen to Sunday's contest on Red Storm Radio for an audio-only broadcast here.

BLUE DEMON BITS
- Sophomore Lydia Ettema continue to lead the Blue Demons on offense with a .315 batting average through 30 games, and four home runs in conference play, good for third in the BIG EAST
- Ettema currently holds a five-game hitting streak, and with a hit on Friday, it would extend to the longest by any one Blue Demon this season
- Senior Addison Talbot is close behind Ettema when it comes to production at the plate, leading the team with six multi-hit games, and holding a .309 batting average
- In conference play, Talbot leads the regular starters with a .400 average
- Junior Bella Nigey continues to lead the pitching staff with a 1.96 ERA across 15 appearances and 10 starts, logging 48 strikeouts in 59.2 innings of work
- Freshman pitcher Hannah Messer hurled her first complete game against Loyola Chicago on March 25, allowing just two runs on three hits
RED STORM REPORT
- St. John's sits at 27-10-1 and 8-1-0 in the BIG EAST, a tally good for first in the league
- Their lone home loss came on March 26 against non-conference opponent Fordham, and they saw their only conference defeat against Butler on March 21, before winning the next two to take the series from the Bulldogs
- Junior outfielder Jess Bianco has been an offensive powerhouse for the Red Storm, tied for 14th in the nation with 23 stolen bases on 25 attempts, a .413 average at the plate, and 52 hits
- DePaul has already faced two of the nation's top ten leaders in stolen bases, Cassidy Relay of UNCW at ninth and Cate Lehner of Butler, who is tied for tenth
- Senior London Jarrard is hitting .422 on the year, joining Bianco as the only other member of the squad above .400, and she ranks eighth in the nation having been hit by pitch 12 times in 2025
- The Red Storm operate with two regular starters in the circle, Francia Loreley and Ana Serafinko, with Serafinko earning consecutive BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week awards after owning a 0.39 ERA and 23 strikeouts in two complete games against Providence
SERIES STUFF
- DePaul holds the advantage in the all-time series against St. John's, 37-12, dating back to a 3-2 victory in Orlando, Florida on March 17, 1986
- The Blue Demons are 14-5 on the road against the Red Storm, but St. John's earned the most recent series in Queens, N.Y. in March 2023, two games to one
- The Red Storm have taken five of the last seven meetings, including all three games at Cacciatore Stadium in 2024
