Blue Demons Close Regular Season with Eight Wins, Trio of Records

Kash Allen, Jessica Beckman, Tessa Roe break program records at Illinois
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – DePaul track and field wrapped up its final meet before the postseason with authority on Friday at the Gary Wieneke Memorial Invitational, winning eight events and rewriting the record books in Champaign.
A standout in the women's throws, Jessica Beckman launched a school-record 52.97m to win the discus, while Kash Allen followed by resetting her own program best in the shot put at 16.10m, good for second place. In the jumps, Jaiah Hopf soared to 12.81m in the triple jump to take first, and Amelia Barrington matched her personal best of 1.65m in the high jump.
On the track, Nadja Moll led the women's sprint group with a 400m victory in 56.50. The distance squad delivered as well, with Sonja Nagle running a personal-best 2:09.41 to place second in the 800m, and Tessa Roe breaking the school record in the 3000m steeplechase with a 10:16.34 to finish runner-up. Strong performances continued with Nina Amicon and Damian Rodriguez each securing second place in the 1500m—Rodriguez's 3:45.19 marked a lifetime best. Leandria Elam (14.35 in the 100m hurdles) and Alyssa Leak (1:02.33 in the 400m hurdles) also registered PRs.
Five of the Blue Demons' eight wins came on the men's side. Demetrius Rolle opened the day by claiming the 100m in 10.71, while Charles Lewis took top honors in the 200m at 21.37. Darius Brown added a 400m hurdles title in 52.26, and Paul Goins ran 14.18 to lead a deep field in the 110m hurdles. In the throws, Alex Bernstein returned to the top of the hammer field with a first-place toss of 66.51m. Daniel Fasasi added a major highlight in the 400m, finishing third in 46.39—a personal best and the third-fastest time in program history.
DePaul totaled over a dozen PRs and 13 top-three finishes, building momentum for the 2025 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships in Storrs, Ct.
