Pizzotti adds two-time All-OVC selection to 2025-26 roster
DePaul women's basketball head coach Jill M. Pizzotti added to the 2025-26 roster on Thursday afternoon with the signing of transfer guard Kate Novik. The Grodno, Belarus native arrives in Chicago after a pair of seasons at Morehead State and has two seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining.
Â
"We are really excited to welcome Kate to DePaul. She brings great size to the guard position and will be an excellent addition to our core of returners as well as our newcomers," Pizzotti said. "Her ability to score at all three levels will fit in well with our 'DePaulBall' style of play, and we look forward to her continued development and impact in our program."
Â
In two seasons at Morehead State, Novik appeared in all 54 games while making 49 starts and averaging 29.5 minutes per contest. For her career, she is averaging 11.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. She posted a team-best 13.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in 2024-25 en route to her second-straight All-Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Second Team selection. The 5-9 guard totaled 19 games in double figure scoring this season including four 20-point performances. As a freshman, Novik ranked second on her team in scoring (11.1 ppg), assists (107) and steals (50) while leading the Eagles in blocks and shooting a team-best 37-percent from three-point range.
Â
"I chose DePaul women's basketball because I feel it's a great fit for me, and I really like their fast and aggressive style of play," said Novik. I had a great time on my visit as the environment felt very welcoming and friendly. What stood out most to me was the team's competitiveness and toughness. I'm really looking forward to playing high-level basketball, and I see this as an exciting challenge ahead. I can't wait to see everyone this summer!"
Â
Novik plans to enroll in DePaul's Driehaus College of Business and pursue a degree in Finance.
