Blue Demons look to build on 2024 postseason success
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer opens its 2025 fall slate at home, hosting Chicago State in the first-ever meeting between the programs on Thursday, Aug. 14. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. CT at Wish Field in Lincoln Park, with live coverage on ESPN+, the first broadcast of any DePaul Athletics program on the platform through the BIG EAST's new broadcast rights agreement.
Fans can enjoy free admission to all home men's and women's soccer matches at Wish Field this fall.
Head coach Michele O'Brien begins her fifth season leading the Blue Demons, building on her strongest campaign to date after guiding the team to its first BIG EAST Championship semifinal appearance since 2016 and a top-20 ranked win over Georgetown last fall. Peter McKeown returns for his third year on staff, while Brendan Roth enters his second season after being elevated to associate head coach in June 2025. Volunteer instructional assistant Sydney Parker, a former Blue Demon defender with 98 career matches played, joins the staff for her collegiate coaching debut.
In Tuesday's BIG EAST women's soccer preseason coaches' poll, DePaul was voted seventh, up four spots from its 11th-place projection in 2024.
The Blue Demons return 17 letterwinners from last season, led by veterans Jen Devona, Grace Menser, and Nahla Dominguez. Danielle Fjeldsted, Tessa Fagerson, and Katelyn Jamie are among other key contributors expected to make an impact in their junior and sophomore seasons. DePaul also welcomes 10 newcomers, highlighted by transfers Jericho Frigon, Sienna Gonzales, Marin Stamper, and Maddie Iro.
