Women’s Soccer Plays Host to Illinois Thursday Evening

Blue Demons and Fighting Illini meet for fourth time
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer returns to Wish Field for a Thursday matchup against in-state foe Illinois on Thursday, Aug. 28, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. CT on ESPN+. Fans can enjoy a full day of action in Lincoln Park, as men's soccer takes on Chicago State at 12:30 p.m. before the women's match. Admission is free for all matches at Wish Field this fall.
The Blue Demons (2-2) enter the week after dropping their last match to Loyola Chicago on Sunday evening but look to remain unbeaten against Big Ten opponents on Thursday. Through four matches, DePaul features three of the BIG EAST's top six goal scorers (Katelyn Jamie, Tessa Fagerson, and Mya Gardner) and is tied for the conference lead with eight goals on the young season.
Illinois (3-0) opened its season with three consecutive 1-0 victories, marking its first 3-0 start since 2022. The Fighting Illini picked up road wins over UIC and Bowling Green before defeating Boston College in their home opener on Monday, Aug. 25, at Demirjian Park.
