DePaul Returns to Florida for Jacksonville Tournament

Blue Demons wrap up tournament action before opening BIG EAST play next weekend
CHICAGO — DePaul softball heads south for its final nonconference road tournament of the season, traveling to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Jacksonville Tournament Feb. 27–Mar. 1 before opening BIG EAST play next weekend.
The Blue Demons begin the weekend Friday with a doubleheader against host Jacksonville at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. CT. On Saturday, DePaul faces North Florida in a noon and 2 p.m. doubleheader. The tournament concludes Sunday with a 10 a.m. matchup against Jacksonville.

- DePaul enters the weekend at 8–8 overall after going 1–4 at the Jax State Tournament last weekend.
- Catcher Madelyn Wilson ranks first nationally with 10 runners caught stealing this season.
- Sophomore Chelsea Parker continues to pace the offense with a team-best .500 batting average.
- Lydia Ettema powered the Blue Demons last weekend, driving in nine of DePaul's 20 runs in Jacksonville, including five RBI off two home runs.
- The Blue Demons swiped six bases against Gardner-Webb, their highest single-game total since the 2024 season.
- DePaul leads the BIG EAST in both home runs (10) and stolen bases (28) this season.
- Jacksonville is 7-8 overall after a 1-4 showing at the UNC Charlotte Invitational last weekend.
- The Dolphins are led by graduate student Kate Linkletter, batting .429 with 3 home runs so far on the season, and held down in the circle by sophomore righthander Jacy Harrelson, posting an ERA of 3.23 with 25 strikeouts in her 8 appearances.
- Erica Ayers is in her ninth season at the helm for Jacksonville.
- North Florida enters the weekend 14-5 overall after going 3-2 at the Purple Classic.
- Junior Bella Cimino leads the Ospreys with a .370 batting average, while junior Cameron Ponich and senior Kate Peters anchor the pitching staff with sub-2.00 ERAs of 1.25 and 1.75.
- The Ospreys rank third nationally in shutouts with six on the season.
- Jeff Conrad is in his fourth full season as head coach of North Florida.
- DePaul holds a 3-2 all-time edge over Jacksonville, splitting last season's two meetings.
