Blue Demons look to maintain winning ways against Flames
DEERFIELD, ILL. – DePaul women's tennis sets its sights on an evening battle with UIC on Friday, March 6, scheduled for 7 p.m. CT at College Park Athletic Club, in Deerfield, Ill. The matchup serves as this year's Natalie Matko Jackson Memorial Match and Alumni Day, meant to remember former DePaul women's tennis alum, Natalie Matko Jackson, and her courageous fight with breast cancer. Entering Friday, DePaul is on a two-game winning streak and looking to capitalize on their March momentum.
MEMORIAL MAGIC
Since the inaugural Memorial Match in 2023, the Blue Demons are 3-0 on Natalie Matko Jackson Memorial Day, defeating Butler, Creighton, and Marquette. Both the Butler and Marquette results were 7-0 triumphs, while the Creighton match ended 4-3 in favor of DePaul.
CHICAGO CRUISING
Since 2000, DePaul has gone 6-1 against UIC, most recently winning 4-1 on Jan. 25, 2025. In that bout, the Blue Demons swept the doubles duels and Eleanor Nobbs, Sasha Stula, and Eva Goncharov brought home the win in singles action. The battle was the first home match of the 2025 season, and brought DePaul to a 1-1 record. Other than UIC's only win in the series, the Blue Demons have held the Flames to under two points in every test against one another, blanking UIC twice.
