CHICAGO Led by Brian Visser’s first team selection, the DePaul men’s soccer team placed three players on the NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-North/Central Region teams. Nathan Feltz and Peter Sterbenz were named to the regional third team. DePaul was one of just five schools in the North/Central Region with at least three players picking up honors.
Visser, a Finance major, concluded his DePaul career in 2008 with 28 career shutouts, 282 saves and a 1.07 goals against average. He set the season record as a junior with 10 shutouts before breaking that mark during his senior campaign with 11 clean sheets. In his three seasons at DePaul, he has totaled 52 matches, three goals and three assists.
Sterbenz, an Accounting major, also played in all 20 games this season. He scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 97th minute against Villanova. Sterbenz has a 3.45 GPA and enters his senior season next year with 57 games and four goals while anchoring DePaul’s defense that has totaled an impressive 22 shutouts over the last two seasons.

The Blue Demons finished the campaign with a 9-7-4 overall record and 5-4-2 BIG EAST record.
