Men's Tennis Falls to BYU

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The No. 52 DePaul men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss to No. 50 BYU in the opening round of the HEB National Team Tournament on Friday at the Corpus Christi Country Club. The Blue Demons fall to 10-3 while BYU improves to 7-4.
Sven Kasper and Bartosz Jozwiak tallied the lone win for the Blue Demons. The pair, improved to 17-8 with an 8-6 win over Evan Urbina and Patirck Kawka in the top doubles spot.
With BYU winning the doubles point, the Cougars needed just three singles victories to secure the dual win. BYU finished off the match with wins on the first, second, fourth courts.
With the match ending when BYU won its fourth point, DePaul's George Chanturia and Filip Dzanko had both put themselves in a position to win -- both had taken their respective matches into a third set.
The Blue Demons close out their day against Western Michigan this evening.
