CHICAGO - The Blue Demons will take on their second nationally ranked opponent on Tuesday when No. 12/12 Loyola renews its North Side rivalry at Wish Field.
DePaul (5-4-2) will be looking for a better outcome than the Sept. 24 match against No. 10/14 Creighton when coach Craig Blazer's side fell 4-1.
Tuesday's game against Loyola (8-1-0) will be the first time Blue Demon senior Simon Megally will play against his younger brother, Rambler freshman Aidan Megally. The younger Megally is a midfielder who has one assist with 12 shots and three shots on goal.
Simon Megally said he wanted Aidan to play at DePaul, but understood when his brother said he wanted to forge his own identity.
Loyola opened the season with a seven-game winning streak that was snapped by Creighton Sept. 27 in a 3-0 road loss. The Ramblers have outscored opponents 18-6, outpointed teams 55-17 and hold a commanding 61-18 advantage in shots on goal.
Elliot Collier leads the team with four goals and Brody Kraussel has seven assists. Goalkeeper Andrew Chekadanov has a 0.68 GAA and six shutouts.
The Blue Demons return to BIG EAST action on Saturday against a Seton Hall side that is 3-6-1, 1-2-0 in conference. The Pirates are coming off a 2-0 win at home against Marquette over the weekend.
The Pirates have been outscored by opponents 17-12, including 9-4 in the second half. Andres Arcila leads Seton Hall with five goals and four assists.
