Blue Demons in Seventh After Two Rounds at Dayton Invite

KETTERING, Ohio - The DePaul golf team is in seventh place following 36 holes on the first day of the Dayton Flyer Invitational. Charlie Spencer-White leads the DePaul contingent in a tie for 13th place while Freddy Thomas is in a group in 20th place.
Spencer-White turned in a one-under 70 in the second round after shooting a 76 (+5) to open the event. His round of 70 was the best of the day by a DePaul golfer and matched his career best round set during his freshman season.
Thomas is tied for 20th after rounds of 72 (+1) and 75 (+4) and he is followed by Joe McCarthy. McCarthy's scores of 73 (+2) and 75 (+4) put him in a group in 26th place. Kyle Vincze is tied for 33rd and Bobby Thomas is in 58th place. Vincze recorded rounds of 76 (+5) and 74 (+3) on Monday while Thomas posted scores of 77 (+6) and 79 (+8).
Miami (Ohio) leads the team leaderboard with a one-over two-round score of 569. Ohio State is seven shots back and Eastern Michigan is in third at 10 strokes behind Miami (Ohio). The Blue Demons tallied a team score of 591 (+23) and are a shot behind sixth-place Cleveland State.
Beau Breault of Eastern Michigan and Ohio State's Will Grimmer are tied for the individual lead with first day totals of 139 (-3).
