Cerny scored her eighth goal of the season
CHICAGO - Following a late game-winner in the 87th minute by the Bulldogs, DePaul fell to 6-6-3 on the season with a 2-1 decision in favor of Butler (10-4-1, 4-1-1 BIG EAST.) They sit 2-3-1 in BIG EAST play, putting them in seventh place.
How it Happened
The Blue Demons got on the board early in the 38th minute when Mary Tierney sent in a cross to the box to Franny Cerny who headed it over the hands of the Bulldogs' goalkeeper Hannah Luedtke for a 1-0 lead. A foul in the box would allow Butler to tie things up at 1-1 in the 53rd. Both teams would play a energetic, back-and-forth game until the 87th minute game-winner by Katie Soderstrom.
In goal, Mollie Eriksson would make five saves against the Bulldogs to help her team break a three overtime game streak (two double overtime game streak as well).
