
Blue Demons Shutout at Georgetown

CHICAGO - DePaul fell to No. 7 Georgetown on Thursday, 3-0, at Cooper Field in their second conference match of the season.
The Hoyas got on the board early on in the game. Meaghan Nally scored just two minutes into the match, heading in a perfectly placed corner kick from Grace Nguyen, giving Georgetown a 1-0 lead. They would hold on to that lead until the goal in the 66th minute by Kyra Carusa. Leading goalscorer for the Hoyas Caitlin Farrell would add a third goal in the 83rd minute for her eighth of the season.
Georgetown keeper Arielle Schechtman tallied eight saves to record her sixth shutout of the season.
Sophomore transfer Jessica Lazo notched her first start of her career as a Blue Demon and made an impact right away, putting up three shots - two on goal - and played a total of 54 minutes. Senior captain Franny Cerny and Morgan Turner added two shots each. DePaul outshot Georgetown 10-7, firing eight on goal.

Their offense, led by Taryn Jakubowski and Aline Reinkober - each with two goals on the season - is averaging just 0.89 goals per game. Rookie goalkeeper Katie Sullivan has three shutouts under her belt including the win against Xavier and a GAA of 1.54.
