The Blue Demons put up a dominant performance against Seton Hall on Saturday courtesy of Franny Cerny's two goals and Madeline Frick's insurance goal to secure its first BIG EAST shutout victory, 3-0, in South Orange, New Jersey. Senior captain Cerny tallied two goals against the Pirates increasing her season total to six goals. She notched the first goal in the 39th minute, off a well-placed cross from sophomore transfer Jessica Lazo, heading it over the goalkeeper's hands. The second goal would come in the 73rd minute off a ball from Mary Tierney. Cerny lead the BIG EAST in goals last year with 10 and has already cut that more than in half with eight games remaining on the season. Madeline Frick would notch an insurance goal in the 83rd minute and seal the deal for the Blue Demons, her second of the season. Freshman goalkeeper Mollie Eriksson made three saves against Seton Hall, recording her fifth shutout of the season.Â
