CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer blanked Marquette on Friday afternoon in their final 2019 regular season match, 4-0, eliminating the Golden Eagles from post-season contention and locking the Blue Demons into the No. 5 spot in the BIG EAST Championship bracket.

DePaul is headed to the post-season tournament for the eighth consecutive time and tenth overall. The Blue Demons earned 16 points total through the season, putting them in a tie with Villanova for fourth-place in the conference standings. Because Villanova won the head-to-head meeting earlier this season, Villanova sits in the No. 4 spot with DePaul at No. 5.

The Blue Demons earned their ninth shutout of the season against Marquette and Morgan Turner found the back of the net twice for her second two-goal game of the season.

Turner got the scoring started for DePaul in the 21st minute when she chased down a lose ball and charged through two MU defenders towards the goal. Keeper Maddy Henry got a hand on it but DePaul took a 1-0 lead.

Before halftime, Mikaela Hoard was taken down inside the box leading to a successful penalty kick conversion by Avery Hay, doubling DePaul's lead over Marquette.

Marquette would see their first shot on goal in the 66th minute, but not after Turner hammered one home following a scramble just in front of the net. Off a Jackie Batliner free kick, the ball bounced to Jessica Lazo then to Brooke Weitzel who recorded her first assist of the season.

The Blue Demons still weren't done for the day and made it a 4-0 final score with Sydney Hunt passing a perfect ball out in front to Jade Eriksen-Russo who sent the ball right through Henry's legs.
