Adix-Zins and Staff Look for First Home Win at Cacciatore Stadium

CHICAGO, Ill. - Coming off of a big win against Northwestern on Wednesday, the Blue Demons enter their home-opening weekend at Cacciatore Stadium as they host conference foe Seton Hall for a single game Saturday and a doubleheader Sunday.
Saturday will mark this season's first home game at Cacciatore Stadium and will open up a three-game series against Seton Hall. Saturday's contest will begin at noon, while the first game of Sunday's doubleheader will begin at 11:00 a.m.
On Wednesday, the Blue Demons downed crosstown rival Northwestern in Evanston. In the 9-7 victory, DePaul exploded for an eight-run sixth inning to make the difference, with three different players launching home runs. Additionally, freshman Gabby O'Riley is listed to this week's BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
The Blue Demons currently boast three units batting over a .300, with Jessica Cothern (.356), Morgan Greenwood (.338) and O'Riley (.333) leading DPU offense. Cothern, O'Riley and Maranda Gutierrez top the stat sheet in home runs, with four apiece.
Last Time Versus Seton Hall
DePaul holds a 26-6 advantage in the series against the Pirates and completed the 2018 season sweep over SHU in an early 12-4 decision made in the fifth inning.
Scouting the Pirates
Currently 12-14 (2-1 BIG EAST), Seton Hall enters this weekend's contests on a three-game win streak after downing league opponent Villanova in the last two of a three-game series and defeating Fairfield in a Tuesday contest earlier this week.
BIG EAST coaches predicted a sixth place finish for the Pirates this year, as announced in the 2019 BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Currently leading SHU at the plate is Hailey Arteaga. Starting every game for the Pirates this season, Arteaga is hitting a .407. In her 81 at bats, she has tallied 21 RBI, 11 doubles, one triple and three home runs.
Seen most frequently in the circle this season are Kelsey Gumm and Reganne Camp. With a 1-4 record and 14 appearances on the season, Gumm is throwing a 3.09 and has allowed 46 hits and 27 runs in her 31.2 innings pitched. On the other hand, Camp has a record of 5-6 and in 59 innings pitched, has an ERA of 5.58 and has allowed 76 hits and 61 runs.
