Blue Demons Head Across Town to Face UIC

DePaul looks to split season series with UIC Wednesday afternoon
CHICAGO – DePaul softball returns to action Wednesday, April 15 with a short trip across town to face UIC at Flames Field in game two of the season series.
First pitch is set for 2 p.m., with the game streamed live on ESPN+. Live stats can be followed here.
Demon Doings
- DePaul enters the matchup at 14-24 overall and 4-11 in BIG EAST play, most recently earning a 9-5 home win over Northwestern last Wednesday.
- Sophomore Jolie Adams leads the Blue Demons with 39 hits and a .433 batting average, the second-highest mark in the BIG EAST.
- Chelsea Parker, Morgan Rogers, Emersyn Coulter, and Alexis Houge are all batting above .300, with averages of .356, .347, .344, and .301, respectively.
- In the circle, righthander Hannah Messer paces the pitching staff with a 4.85 ERA across 101 innings pitched, the fourth-highest total in the conference.
- As a team, DePaul ranks second in the BIG EAST with 60 stolen bases, and Houge leads the squad with 12, tied for seventh-most individually in the conference.
Scouting UIC
- UIC enters this week at 17-24-1 overall with a 6-14 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play and are set for a doubleheader against Valparaiso on Tuesday night.
- Junior Cameran Rios paces the Flames offense with a .377 average and 49 hits, followed closely by Siena Stickeney at .376 and Sam Tourtillott at .355, who leads the team in extra-base hits with 11 doubles, three triples, and six home runs.
- In the circle, sophomore Jasmine Whorley leads UIC with a 5.52 ERA, 62 strikeouts, and a 13-11 record.
Series Stuff
- DePaul holds a 56-29 advantage in the all-time series.
- On March 24, the Flames took game one against the Blue Demons in a close 2-1 decision at Cacciatore Stadium.
