Five minutes later, Strus connected once more from distance to make the score 32-26.
Down the stretch of the first half, back-to-back three-point plays from Olujobi and Reed pushed the DePaul advantage to 41-33 with 2:45 to play before the break. Out of the intermission, the Blue Demons quickly extended their lead to 15 points less than two minutes into the second half. USF would stick around and with 9:10 left in the game, the Bulls pulled within two points for the first time since there was 3:50 left in the first half.
Over the final nine minutes of the game DePaul (19-16) would push their lead back to seven points, but USF once again rallied to tie the game at 77-77 with 3:53 to play.

In the final minute, South Florida would threaten, cutting the deficit to three but DePaul would survive, warding off the visitor to get the win.
