DePaul Set for Series at Georgetown

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Blue Demons return to action for the first time since their win against Seton Hall last Saturday in what was meant to be a three-game series but was cut short due to weather. DePaul resumes league play in three contests at Georgetown this weekend.
Saturday will feature a doubleheader set to begin at 11 a.m. CT, while Sunday's lone game will begin at the same time.
Last weekend, Tracie Adix-Zins and staff achieved their first home win leading the DePaul softball program. A four-run sixth inning ultimately made the difference for the Blue Demons as Jessica Cothern launched a three-run homer that was immediately followed by a solo blast from Morgan Greenwood. The offensive burst ended in a 8-6 victory for DePaul.
Cothern leads Blue Demon offense across the board with a .371 batting average, 39 hits, 11 doubles, five home runs and 33 RBI.
Last Time Versus Georgetown
DePaul holds a solid 17-3 advantage in the series against the Hoyas. Georgetown won the most recent contest between the two by a difference of 5-4 in the eighth inning of play during the 2018 season.
Scouting the Hoyas
Georgetown is currently 9-24 on the season and 2-3 in BIG EAST play. The Hoyas were picked to finish seventh in BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Leading Hoya offense is Noelle Holiday. With a batting average of .351, Holiday has 27 hits and seven runs. She ties for the most doubles on the team with eight, and has the second-most home runs on the team with six. Holiday leads the team in RBI with 26 on the season.
