9/20/2019 5:06:00 PM | MEN'S SOCCER
CHICAGO - In their BIG EAST opener, DePaul men's soccer played to a hard-fought 0-0 double overtime draw against the Villanova Wildcats Friday afternoon on Wish Field. This is their first draw of the season, putting the Blue Demons at 3-3-1.
DePaul came out firing in the first half, out-shooting Villanova (4-2-1) 7-0 putting the match scoreless at halftime. Things flip flopped for the teams when Villanova out-shot DePaul 16-3 in the second half. Neither team could create a dangerous enough chance to score and the game was forced into overtime.
The Wildcats would find four chances in overtime while DePaul would put up three shots, none on goal.
DePaul keeper Drew Nuelle would make five top-notch saves on the day to shutout the Wildcats. Jake Fuderer, Youssef Ramadan, Zach El-Shafei and Max de Bruijne would each get a chance on goal but Villanova's Carson Williams was there every time.

DePaul will hit the road to play Oakland (Mich.) on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. CT.
