ROCHESTER, Mich. - In what looked like a game headed into overtime, DePaul managed to find a way to take down the Oakland Golden Grizzlies 1-0 on Tuesday evening at the Oakland Soccer Park. The Blue Demons improve to 4-3-1 on the season.
Oakland (4-3-1) heavily outshot DePaul, 21-6, but only forced DePaul goalkeeper Drew Nuelle to make four saves, earning his fourth shutout this season.
The lone goal of the match came in the 87th minute when DePaul earned their fifth corner of the game. Zach El-Shafei placed the ball perfectly in line for Youssef Ramadan to head the ball straight into the back corner of the goal.
Oakland keeper Sullivan Lauderdale would only make one save on the night in the 56th minute after McRay Drong put up the only other shot on goal for the Blue Demons.
Ten different Oakland players fired off at least one shot on goal throughout the night, with Noah Jensen tallying four total with one on goal.
UP NEXT
The Blue Demons will continue their road swing this weekend when they travel to Seton Hall for a 5:00 p.m. matcup in South Orange, N.J. on Saturday.
