Men's Soccer to Face Notre Dame, No. 5 Georgetown

CHICAGO - DePaul men's soccer is set for two contests this week against No. 21 Notre Dame on Tuesday and against No. 2 Georgetown on Friday. Tuesday's matchup against Notre Dame marks the Blue Demons' final non-conference matchup of the 2019 season while Friday's contest resumes conference play.Â
DePaul (4-4-1, 0-1-1) has four goal-scorers with two goals apiece - Max de Bruijne, Zach El-Shafei, Youssef Ramadan and David Gripman. Sophomore Jake Fuderer leads the team in assists with four.Â

No. 21-ranked Notre Dame fell to No. 3 Virgina in a 1-0 defeat. The Irish sit 4-2-1, 0-1 on the season so far with seven different goal scorers. Jack Lynn has scored a team-high four goals while Ian Aschieris leads the team with three assists. Duncan Turnbull has played five of the seven matches in goal for Notre Dame, owning a goals against average of 2.11 and tallying 16 saves.Â

This will be the 21st meeting between DePaul and Notre Dame. The Irish hold a 19-1-0 advantage.Â
SCOUTING THE HOYAS
The No. 2-ranked Hoyas (7-1-0, 2-0-0) defeated BIG EAST rival Providence over the weekend in a 2-1 result. Jacob Montes and Zach Riviere have each scored four goals to lead the team. Paul Rothrock has notched six assists and Derek Dodson sits right behind him with five. Georgetown has split the goalkeeping duties between Tomas Romero and Giannis Nikopolidis, eaching netting four games in between the posts. Romero owns a goals against average of 0.51 to go along with two shutouts, seven saves and a 0.778 save percentage. Nikopolidis has 12 saves under his belt, a 3-1-0 record and a 0.72 goals against average to pair with a 0.800 save percentage.Â

Georgetown owns this series, 8-1-1. DePaul's lone victory came in a 1-0 defeat in 2016. Last season, the Blue Demons fell 2-1 in Washington, D.C.Â
