
George Washington Edges DePaul

CHICAGO - DePaul softball took a three-run lead over the George Washington Colonials but a four-run comeback would push the Blue Demons to 2-4 on the season after their first game of the 2020 Pirate Clash in Greenville, N.C.Â
George Washington tacked on a run in the first inning but it would only take three for DePaul to get started. Senior third baseman Erin Andris would launch her third home-run of the season to score three before freshman first baseman Brooke Johnson hit her first career home run to give the Blue Demons a 4-1 lead.Â
The Colonials would inch one run closer in the fifth but were only down by two for a half inning. Andris hit her second home run of the day and lift DePaul over GW, 5-2.Â
The last inning turned upside down and the Colonials would make a four-run comeback to take the game, 6-5.Â
