Blue Demons Return to Wish Field

DePaul takes on Villanova in Lincoln Park on Sunday
CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer makes its return to Lincoln Park on Sunday, Oct. 3, hosting the Villanova Wildcats for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The Blue Demons (3-7, 0-2 BIG EAST) are searching for their first win since a 3-0 rout of Eastern Illinois back on Sept. 18. Sunday's match versus Villanova (6-5, 0-3 BIG EAST) will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports presented by SoFi.
The Blue Demons' matchup with the Wildcats will be the 18th in the all-time series and both sides will be looking to gain an edge. The all-time series stands at 8-8-1 and the Wildcats claimed the last meeting: a 1-0 win in Chicago back in 2019.
After scoring three goals in a win over Eastern Illinois on Alumni Day two weeks ago, the Blue Demons were held without a goal through a pair of BIG EAST road matches. The Blue Demons fell 1-0 versus St. John's on Sept. 25 before dropping a 2-0 decision versus Georgetown in Washington, D.C. on Thursday. The Blue Demons hold a 2-2 record at Wish Field so far this season, claiming wins versus UIC and EIU.

- Villanova holds a 6-5 record this season but has dropped four straight matches. The Wildcats are searching for their first win since a 2-1 victory over Colgate in overtime.
- Head coach Chris McLain is in his fourth season as the leader of the Wildcats. McLain posted a 10-7-3 record through his first three seasons.
- The Wildcats have been led offensively by Chloe O'Neill who has posted seven goals this fall and has added four assists. O'Neill has fired off 23 shots and had back-to-back two-goal performances earlier this season in non-conference play.
- Goalkeeper Megan McKlay has made 51 saves in goal for the Wildcats this season. The senior has strung together four-straight five-plus save performances.
