First touch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT at Wish Field
CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer hosts the Xavier Musketeers at Wish Field on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT for senior day. The contest will be broadcasted on BEDN and will be the first meeting between the Blue Demons and Musketeers this season.
DePaul will honor its seniors prior to the game, recognizing their commitment and contributions to the program during their careers as Blue Demons. With the last year being difficult and unpredictable, the DePaul senior class has persevered through more than ever before.Â
The Blue Demons are looking to get back into the win column after a 1-0 defeat in Milwaukee against Marquette on Thursday. Prior to the loss, DePaul had won back-to-back BIG EAST games against Creighton and Butler. The Blue Demons sit in third place behind Butler and Marquette in the Midwest Division standings.
DePaul takes on the Musketeers for the first time this season after the teams' first scheduled meeting was postponed due to COVID issues within the Xavier program. Xavier holds a 2-5 overall record and a 1-3 clip within the BIG EAST. The Musketeers are coming off three consecutive losses within conference play.
DePaul holds an edge in the all-time matchup between the sides, owning a 4-2-1 record. However, the Musketeers claimed the 2019 edition of the matchup, earning a 2-1 win in Cincinnati on October 27, 2019. Xavier went on to win the BIG EAST regular season and conference championships during the fall of 2019, advancing to the squad's first NCAA Tournament since 2000.
