The Blue Demon women host Marquette on Sunday afternoon
CHICAGO– DePaul women's soccer is set to host the Marquette Golden Eagles for a BIG EAST matchup at Wish Field in Lincoln Park on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. CT. The Blue Demons will hit the pitch in Chicago for the first time since taking on the Golden Eagles on November 1, 2019. Senior Morgan Turner notched a pair of scores in the 4-0 win over Marquette that wrapped up the 2019 regular season.
The Blue Demons enter Sunday's match with a 1-1-0 record after dropping the conference opener to Butler, 3-1 on Thursday in Indianapolis. Marquette will open its BIG EAST slate with Sunday's match after posting a 2-0-0 record so far this spring. The Golden Eagles have won non-conference matches against Chicago State and Illinois State.
DePaul and Marquette matchup for the 24th time ever and the Blue Demons are searching for their seventh win in the all-time series. After a 18-month hiatus, the Blue Demons return to Lincoln Park where they accumulated a 5-3-2 record during the 2019 season.
DePaul won its regular season opener back on February 22 when junior defender Sydney Parker delivered a game-winning goal in the final minute to beat Valparaiso. Parker's first career goal and defensive effort throughout the game earned her a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Turner, a Preseason All-BIG EAST honoree, also notched a goal in the season-opening win.
