
DePaul Set for Clash with Unbeaten Milwaukee

Blue Demons search for third-straight win
CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer eyes its third-straight win on Thursday night in a matchup versus Milwaukee. The Blue Demons (2-1) travel north to take on the undefeated Panthers (3-0) at Engelmann Stadium in Milwaukee at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
DePaul enters the match after winning back-to-back games versus Oakland and UIC. Michele O'Brien earned her first-career victory in the Blue Demons' 1-0 win over Oakland last Thursday. Blue Demon forward Morgan Turner scored the lone goal for DePaul before notching a two-goal performance on Sunday versus UIC. Turner leads the Blue Demons with three goals and earned BIG EAST honor roll recognition after being credited with the two-game winning scores last week.
Megan Malecha earned BIG EAST defensive POW honors for her efforts in the pair of shutouts. The Blue Demons out-shot both opponents by a combined 38-9 margin, including 17-1 on goal. The clean sheets were the first of the season for DePaul and the first consecutive shutouts for the Blue Demons since the 2019 season.
DePaul sophomore Beth Smyth was a key contributor in Sunday's win. The English midfielder scored her first career goal and assisted on both of Turner's scores. DePaul led 3-0 just 23 minutes into the meeting with UIC.
The matchup with the Panthers is the first since the Blue Demons suffered a 2-1 loss on Aug. 22, 2019. DePaul takes on Milwaukee before heading back to Michigan for a clash with #24 Michigan on Sunday at noon
SCOUTING MILWAUKEE- Head coach Troy Fabiano is in his seventh year at the helm of the Panthers.
- Milwaukee has outscored opponents 20-0 through three matches this fall. The Panthers have tallied wins over Northern Illinois, Western Illinois and Eastern Kentucky.
- The Panthers are ranked no. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Association North Region Poll and also received votes in the national top-25 poll.
- Mackenzie Schill was named Horizon player of the week after scoring twice versus Eastern Kentucky. She has scored on five occasions this season.
