DePaul meets Marquette for first time this seaso
CHICAGO - DePaul volleyball heads north to take on RV Marquette s on Wednesday. The Wednesday matinee match is set to begin at 11 a.m. from the Al McGuire Center. Fans can stream the match here.Â
"Marquette runs one of the fastest and most explosive offenses in the league," said head coach Marie Zidek. "It makes for a fun battle to see if you can adjust your speed on defense as the match goes on while keeping your game solid. This team is ready for the battle. We gain health and game intelligence by the day and at the foundation of who we are becoming is the ability to grind. We are very much looking forward to this match."
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
- Marquette sits at 8-7 (4-0 BIG EAST) after the first two weeks of conference play. Throughout the season, the Golden Eagles have played nine matches against top-25 ranked opponents.
- Aubrey Hamilton leads the offense, totaling 208 kills and averaging 3.71 kills per set which is good for third in the conference. Hamilton was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday after averaging 4.14 kills per set against UConn and Providence.
- Sarah Kushner paces the Marquette defense with 3.54 digs per set, which is good for top-10 within the conference.
- Yadhira Anchante sits in sixth in the BIG EAST as she averages 9.38 assists per set.
- Ryan Theis is in his 10th season at the helm of the Golden Eagles.Â

Marquette leads the all-time series, 41-29.
BLUE DEMON BITS
- The team ranks in the top three in four categories within the BIG EAST: first in blocks (2.52 per set), second in kills (13.13 per set), assists (12.42 per set) and digs (16.35 per set).Â
- Jill Pressly leads the Blue Demons offense with 234 kills, averaging 4.50 per set which is good for first in the conference and 13th in the nation. The senior was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after recording 47 kills in two matches.
- Rachel Krasowski has 272 digs, averaging 5.23 per set which is good for first in the conference and 13th in the country. Krasowski was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday after averaging 7.38 digs per set on the first road swing of conference play.
- Freshman Meghan Scholz leads the conference in blocks with 1.17 per set, ranking within the top-10 of all Division I freshmen.
- Graduate student Audrey Klemp ranks seventh in the BIG EAST in kills with 3.33 per set.
UP NEXT
DePaul will return home on Saturday, Oct. 7 as they welcome Creighton to Lincoln Park. First serve from McGrath-Phillips Arena is set for 6 p.m.Â
