Women Take Home Second, Men Claim Third Overall at BIG EAST Championships

Blue Demons complete 2023 BIG EAST Indoor Championship
CHICAGO, Ill. – DePaul track and field completed the 2023 BIG EAST Indoor Championship, Saturday afternoon at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Indoor Track and Field Center. The women's team placed second overall with 111 points, while the men finished third with 95 points. Two Blue Demons brought home individual titles and three school records were broken.Â
Cameron Attucks claimed the first BIG EAST Indoor Championship title of the day winning the men's 60m dash. With a final time of 6.74, Attucks earned a new personal record and broke DePaul's standing school record for the 60m dash event.Â
Off the oval, Jason Montano took home his own BIG EAST Indoor title, following his first place performance in the men's shot put with a final distance of 16.77m.
In addition to Attucks, two other Blue Demons etched new school records into the books. Darius Brown bested his own school record for the men's 60m hurdles and earned a new PR with a time of 7.80. Brown finished second in the event. Olivia Borowiak also cleared her previous DePaul record and earned a new PR in the women's 3000m with a final time of 9:18.73
Other notable performances included Kindle Miles' silver in the women's shot put with a 13.32m distance and Jaiah Hopf's silver in the women's triple jump with 12.52m. Jetta Mays placed second in the women's 60m dash while the men's 4x400 relay earned silver with a 3:12.82 time.
