New Look Blue Demons Open Season with 25 Newcomers

Track & Field heads to Notre Dame and Boston for first meets
SOUTH BEND, Ind. / BOSTON, Mass. – DePaul track and field launches its 2025 indoor campaign this weekend with student-athletes competing at both the Blue & Gold Invitational (Notre Dame) and the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener (Boston University), Dec. 5-6.
At Notre Dame's Loftus Sports Center, action begins Friday at 12 p.m. CT with the jumps, throws, and pole vault, followed by track events starting at 1:30 p.m. CT. Meanwhile, in Boston, two Blue Demons will race Saturday at one of the nation's premier early-season meets held at the BU Track and Tennis Center, a World Athletics–sanctioned facility that annually draws top competitors.
DePaul returns several record holders poised to continue their success:
Boston Entrants
At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Abdullahi Mohamed and Vivian Wyller will represent DePaul. Mohamed is entered in the men's 5000m, while Wyller will line up in the women's 5000m field amid a competitive slate featuring Power Five programs and professional entrants.
2025 Newcomer Class
DePaul welcomes 25 newcomers this season, adding depth across sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, and multis.
Women's Newcomers
Sprints/Hurdles: Aisha Kazeem, Amy Carhee, Asha Pierre-Antoine
Jumps/Multis: Vivian Jones, Aubrey Phillips, Ashleigh McArdle
Throws: Elena Opp, Olivia Santos, Sophia Nguyen, Katina Maclin, Lauren Drew, Sydney Kube, Jana Al-Twal
Pole Vault: Katelyn Welsh
Men's Newcomers
Sprints/Hurdles: Caleb Schulz, Ian Bello, Alex Long-Craine, Christian Ortiz-Velazquez, Musa Butler, Kyle Dube, Denhm Holt, Myles Money
Jumps: Isaiah Hopf, Josh Hill, Angel Escamilla

- Demetrius Rolle, the BIG EAST 60-meter champion, owns the program's indoor 60-meter dash record (6.70) and was part of the record-setting 4x100m relay (45.40) in 2025.
- Jaiah Hopf, the reigning BIG EAST triple jump champion, set both the indoor (13.03m) and outdoor (13.26m) school records in 2025.
- Sade Miller, a three-time BIG EAST champion, captured the 60-meter titles both indoors and outdoors while helping DePaul's 4x100m relay (45.40) to a conference crown and school record in 2025.
Boston Entrants
