Blue Demons Welcome No. 18 Georgetown Sunday Afternoon

CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer continues its homestand in Lincoln Park on Sunday, Oct. 12, when No. 18 Georgetown visits Wish Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT, and fans can follow the action on the BIG EAST Digital Network/FloSports and StatBroadcast.

DePaul (2-5-5, 0-1-3 BIG EAST) is coming off three consecutive draws against BIG EAST opponents Butler, Villanova, and most recently, Marquette, on Sunday, Oct. 6. Junior Briley Hill netted her first goal as a Blue Demon with a 74th-minute breakaway on a feed from Freya Jupp.

No. 18 Georgetown (8-1-4, 4-0-1 BIG EAST) remains unbeaten in eight straight games, most recently defeating St. John's 3-0 on Sunday, Oct. 6. Senior Maja Lardner leads the Hoyas' offense and is tied for second in the BIG EAST with seven goals this season.

Hoyas Highlights

Dave Nolan, now in his 21st season as head coach, has 271 career wins and 17 consecutive seasons with at least 10 victories.
The Hoyas finished the 2023 campaign with a 13-2-7 record and were crowned BIG EAST Conference Champions.
Cara Martin was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 7, and Eliza Turner earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Maja Lardner and Claire Manning rank in the top 10 in the BIG EAST in shots per game with 3.62 and 2.58, respectively. Both are also in the top five for goals scored.
Manning is second in the BIG EAST with six assists.
Lardner, Natalie Means, and Lizzie Heller are tied for fifth in the conference with four assists each.
Goalkeepers Anna Karpenko and Cara Martin have combined to allow just six goals this season.
The Hoyas rank seventh nationally in shots per game (20.31) and fifth in corner kicks per game (7.92).

Georgetown leads the all-time series against DePaul, 12-6-4.
The Blue Demons are winless in their last three meetings with Georgetown.
