Women’s Soccer Opens Homestand With Marquette

CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer opens a three-match homestand at Wish Field, Sunday, Oct. 6, as Marquette visits Lincoln Park. First touch in Chicago is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT, with live streaming available on the BIG EAST Digital Network/FloFC and live stats on StatBroadcast.

Former letterwinners are encouraged to join the fun at Wish Field on Sunday as the Blue Demons honor Women's Soccer alumni during halftime.

DePaul (2-5-4, 0-1-2 BIG EAST) enters Sunday's match coming off its highest shot attempts of the season (13) in a 1-1 draw with Villanova on Thursday, Oct. 3. Sophomore Shayna da Silva scored her first career goal in that match, helping DePaul extend its unbeaten streak to five of the last six games.

Marquette (4-7-2, 1-2-0 BIG EAST) is coming off a 2-1 victory over BIG EAST foe St. John's on Thursday, Oct. 3. The Golden Eagles have posted three shutouts this season in wins over UIC, Mercyhurst, and St. Thomas.

The Blue Demons are unbeaten in five of their last six matches, with wins over UIC and Lindenwood.

Elena Milam recorded her 36th save in the tie with Villanova and has four shutouts this season.
Milam earned her third BIG EAST Weekly Award in the last four weeks on Monday, Sept. 30. She is tied for second in the conference in saves and ranks third with four shutouts.
Junior Briley Hill leads DePaul with 17 shot attempts despite remaining scoreless.
Freya Jupp leads the Blue Demons in goals (3) and shots on goal (7).

Chris Allen is in his first season as Marquette's head coach, having previously coached at Saint Louis.
The Golden Eagles finished the 2023 campaign with a 5-10-4 record and were selected to finish ninth in the 2024 BIG EAST Preseason Poll.
Senior Tess O'Connell is the only Golden Eagle to earn a BIG EAST Weekly Award (9/23) this season for her two-goal performance against St. Thomas.
Haley Christianson ranks third in the BIG EAST with five assists and leads Marquette in that category.
Marquette ranks last in the BIG EAST with 21 goals allowed.
Elise Krone is one of two goalkeepers in the conference to record 10 saves in a single match.
