Softball Readies for Weekday Matchup Against Northwestern

CHICAGO - DePaul softball is back in action on Tuesday afternoon as they head to Evanston to take on the Northwestern Wildcats. First pitch from Sharon J. Drysdale Field is set for 3 p.m. CT with coverage on B1G+.

This is the first time that DePaul will be traveling to Northwestern since March of 2019 where the Blue Demons won, 9-7.

BLUE DEMON BITS

DePaul sits at 6-19 (2-4 BIG EAST) after the second weekend of conference play.
Fifth year senior Brooke Johnson leads the league in batting average (.451), which is good for 27th nationally, and slugging percentage (.901), which ranks 15th in the country. In addition, Johnson leads the conference in runs scored (24) and home runs (8) while ranking second in hits (32). She is now tied for fourth all-time in program history for home runs, totaling 34 in her career.
Brenna Smith owns a team-best ERA of 3.15 coming from 15 appearances and five starts.
The Blue Demons rank third in the BIG EAST in stolen bases, totaling 36 throughout the season. Freshman Morgan Rogers sits fifth in the league, tallying nine on her own.

ABOUT NORTHWESTERN

The Wildcats sit at 11-7 (0-0 Big Ten) after a 3-1 weekend, earning wins against #24 Boston University, Minnesota and #23 South Carolina.
Sophomore Kansas Robinson paces the offense with a .411 batting average and a .696 slugging percentage. Robinson has scored 13 runs on 23 hits and tallied 15 RBIs.
Graduate student Ashley Miller owns a staff-best 0.93 ERA over 14 games with seven starts. Miller has thrown 60.0 innings while striking out 73.
Kate Drohan is in her 23rd season at the helm of the Wildcats.

SERIES STUFF
This will be the 64th all-time meeting between the two programs, as the Wildcats lead the series, 42-21.

DePaul will take the weekend off and return to action against Northern Illinois on Tuesday, March 26. First pitch from DeKalb, Ill. is set for 3 p.m. CT.
