Blue Demons return to BIG EAST play on Thursday
CHICAGO - DePaul softball is back at Cacciatore Stadium and set for BIG EAST play against St. John's this weekend on March 28-30. Thursday's game is set for 2:30 p.m. CT first pitch while Friday is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT. The series will wrap up on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT.

BLUE DEMON BITS
- DePaul enters the weekend at 7-20 (2-4 BIG EAST) after defeating Northern Illinois 17-5 on Tuesday, March 26.
- The Blue Demons offense came alive against Northern Illinois. The team recorded a season-best 17 runs on 13 hits while hitting three home runs. Sophomore Bibianna Rodriguez recorded eight RBIs on Tuesday, the most by an individual in a BIG EAST game this season.
- Riley Pool and Carly Alvers both had perfect days at the plate against Northern Illinois, going 4-4 and 3-3, respectively. Pool tallied four hits and three RBIs while Alvers added three hits and two stolen bases.
- Sophomore Abbey Pochie made her return to the circle on Tuesday for her first outing of the season. Pochie went 3.0 innings giving up five runs on four hits.
- Brooke Johnson continues to lead the team in batting average (.436), hits (34), runs (25), RBIs (18) and slugging percentage (.848).
ABOUT ST. JOHN'S
- St. John's enters the weekend with a 16-16 (5-4 BIG EAST) record after dropping two games to Providence over the weekend and picking up a weekday win over Iona on Tuesday.
- Sophomore Jess Bianco and junior London Jarrad pace the offense with batting averages of .358 and .349, respectively. Bianco leads the team in runs (26) and hits (39) while Jarrad has a team-best 33 RBIs and .623 slugging percentages.
- Sophomore Loreley Francia owns a team-best ERA of 2.28 with a 7-3 record in 19 appearances. Francia has thrown 79.2 innings, giving up 76 hits and 32 runs.
- Michelle DePolo is in her first season leading the Red Storm.
SERIES STUFF
DePaul leads the all-time series, 37-9. St. John's won the series during the 2023 campaign, but the Blue Demons defeated the Red Storm in the 2023 BIG EAST Tournament.
