Blue Demons Head East for Weekend Series at Providence

CHICAGO - DePaul softball continues conference play as they head to Providence, R.I. to take on the Friars this weekend, April 12-14. First pitch from Glay Field on Friday is set for 2 p.m. CT with Saturday's game beginning at 12 p.m. CT. The series finale will wrap up on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.

BLUE DEMON BITS

Brooke Johnson continues to lead the Blue Demons offense in batting average, runs, hits, RBIs, total bases, slugging percentage and on-base percentage.
Riley Pool is second on the squad with a .375 batting average and 33 hits. Pool ranks second in the conference, catching nine runners stealing. Pool is first in the conference and 19th in the country in sacrifice flies, totaling four.
The team is third in the conference in stolen bases per game, averaging 1.21 per game.
Freshman Morgan Rogers is fourth in the BIG EAST in steals, tallying 10 on the season.

ABOUT PROVIDENCE

Providence enters the weekend with an overall record of 14-18 (5-10 BIG EAST).
Junior Hanna Aldrich leads the offense with a .352 batting average, 32 hits and 20 RBIs. Senior Jacque Harrington adds 52 total bases and a .531 slugging percentage.
Freshman Alyssa Twomey leads the Friars pitching staff with a 2.98 ERA with a 10-5 record. Twomey has tallied 98 strikeouts though 91.2 innings thrown.
Kelsey Christensen is in her first season leading the Friars.

SERIES STUFF
DePaul leads the all-time series, 30-5. The Blue Demons won the series during the 2023 season, taking two of three from the Friars in Chicago.

UP NEXT
DePaul returns to Cacciatore Stadium for their final homestand of the season. The Blue Demons will host Villanova on April 19-21 with coverage on BIG EAST Digital Network and FloSoftball.
