HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1 - DePaul 1, Creighton 2
Pierce retired the first five batters she faced while Bibianna Rodriguez was able to get the bats going for DePaul, knocking a base hit up the middle in the fourth inning.
Creighton (30-19, 13-7 BIG EAST)Â took a 1-0 lead off of a single, error and a sacrifice fly in the fifth, but Pierce was able to keep the rest of the Creighton baserunners at bay. The Bluejays doubled their lead, 2-0, in the sixth off of a triple and sacrifice fly.
The Blue Demons looked to rally in the seventh inning, led by Ava Paganis who tallied a double to center field.
