Softball Readies for Final Weekend of the Regular Season

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - DePaul softball wraps up regular season conference play this weekend, May 3-5, at Seton Hall. The Blue Demons and Pirates are set to meet on Friday at 1 p.m. CT with both Saturday and Sunday's meetings beginning at 11 a.m. CT.

BLUE DEMON BITS

Brooke Johnson continues to lead the DePaul offense with a .372 batting average and 23 RBIs. The fifth year senior has 36 home runs, putting her fourth all-time in program history. Johnson's 10 home runs are good for fourth in the BIG EAST while her .659 slugging percentage ranks second in the conference.
Riley Pool is having the best season of her career, tallying a .313 batting average with 35 hits and 20 RBIs. Pool is second in the league in sacrifice flies (four) and third in caught stealing by (10).
Graduate student Brenna Smith owns the staff-best ERA of 4.31 for the Blue Demons. Smith has thrown 87.2 innings through 27 appearances, recording 45 strikeouts and giving up 42 earned runs.

ABOUT SETON HALL

Seton Hall enters the final weekend of the regular season with a record of 25-20 (12-9 BIG EAST).
Taylor Hill and Olivia Gilbert lead the Pirates on offense. Hill has a team-best .327 batting average with 45 runs on 49 hits and a .600 slugging percentage. Gilbert leads the team in RBIs, collecting 36 throughout the season.
Kyra Kreuscher has a staff-best 2.19 ERA through 22 appearances and six complete games on the season. Kelsey Carr has tallied a team-best 109 strikeouts through 129.1 innings pitches for the Pirates.
Angie Churchill is in her third season at the helm of the Pirates.

SERIES STUFF
DePaul leads the all-time series, 30-10. The last meeting between the Blue Demons and Pirates was May 10, 2023 in the BIG EAST Tournament where Seton Hall won, 5-4.
