Blue Demons last ranked win came over Hoyas in 2024
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Looking to build on the breakthrough performance that defined last year's matchup, DePaul women's soccer travels to face No. 16 Georgetown on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m. CT. The Blue Demons earned a 1-0 win over the then-No. 18 Hoyas last fall in Lincoln Park, marking their first ranked victory since 2019. Saturday's contest at Shaw Field will stream live on ESPN+.
The Blue Demons (3-8-1, 0-3-1 BIG EAST) continue their stretch of three straight road contests after falling 4-1 at Marquette last weekend in Milwaukee. With that result, DePaul matched its BIG EAST loss total from last season, when it finished 3-3-4 in conference play. The Blue Demons look to regroup entering the back half of the schedule, with a tightened BIG EAST Championship field adding weight to every result.
Georgetown (9-2-2, 5-0 BIG EAST) enters unbeaten in conference action and continues one of the most consistent stretches of success in the BIG EAST, having not recorded more than two losses in any season since 2014. DePaul's victories over Georgetown in 2019 and 2024 both stand as highlights in that span. Senior forward Natalie Means, the reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, totaled four goals and two assists across wins against Butler and St. John's, while Cara Martin earned her third BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honor following a pair of shutouts.
