DePaul Set to Host Senior Day at Blue Demon Alumni Classic

Blue Demons return to Gately Park for annual meet
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field returns home this weekend to host the Blue Demon Alumni Classic on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Gately Park. Field events begin at 11 a.m. CT, with track events starting at 1 p.m. CT. Fans can follow live results here.
Admission is free for all spectators attending the Blue Demon Alumni Classic. The meet will feature a senior recognition ceremony at 2:30 p.m. CT, followed by a special recognition for Team USA Paralympic gold medalist and DePaul track and field alum Noelle Malkamaki at 4:40 p.m. CT.
DePaul welcomes a competitive field featuring 11 collegiate programs. Schools competing include the University of Chicago, Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, UIC, Indiana State, Loyola Chicago, Marquette, Northwestern, Olive-Harvey, Valparaiso, and Wisconsin. Additionally, Three Rivers Racing Elite and Southwest Sprinters will have athletes competing in events.
The last outing at the Meyo Invitational featured multiple standout performances, highlighted by two first-place finishes and a school record. Jaiah Hopf secured the triple jump title, breaking her own school record with a leap of 12.76m. Darius Brown extended his success in the 60m hurdles, winning the event in 7.65. Alex Bernstein topped the weight throw field with a mark of 19.76m to take first place.
At last year's Blue Demon Alumni Classic, DePaul secured 13 first-place finishes across the competition. Brown won the men's 60m hurdles for the third straight year, while Claire Dunn led a DePaul sweep in the women's 400m. Damian Rodriguez took first in the 800m, and Meghan Dieball claimed victory in the mile. Nina Amicon finished first in the 3,000m, while Hopf won the triple jump and Kash Allen took the top spot in the women's shot put. Both relay teams capped off the meet with first-place finishes, as the women's 4x400m squad and the men's team each claimed gold.
