Track and Field Carries Momentum Into Wisconsin Invitational

Blue Demons return to Gately Park for Badger Windy City Invite
CHICAGO – Fresh off its third annual Blue Demon Alumni Classic, which saw multiple gold finishes and a school record, DePaul track and field returns to Gately Indoor for the fourth time this season to compete in the Badger Windy City Invitational on Feb. 14-15. This marks the first of two two-day meets in a three-week span as the Blue Demons gear up for championship season.
Action begins Friday at 1 p.m. CT, with Championship Sections starting at 4:30 p.m. (field events) and 6 p.m. (track events). Saturday follows a similar schedule, with field events beginning at 10 a.m. and track events at 11 a.m. Track Championship Events are set for 2:20 p.m.

Hosted by Wisconsin, the meet features 16 competing schools, including Ball State, DePaul, Florida A&M, Harvard, Howard, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northern Colorado, Notre Dame, Rutgers, South Florida, Toledo, Tulane, and Wisconsin.
DePaul wrapped up the Blue Demon Alumni Classic on Feb. 8, as Jaiah Hopf set a school record in the triple jump. First-place finishes came from Darius Brown (60m hurdles), John Bush (800m), Dominic Cole (200m), Hopf (triple jump, long jump), Sade Miller (60m), and the women's 4x400m relay team of Kayliah Motes, Sonja Nagle, Claire Dunn, and Nadja Moll. Alex Bernstein placed second in the weight throw, while Jaiden Gary finished third in the shot put.
Two Blue Demons, Hopf and Bernstein, earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors ahead of this weekend's meet. Hopf was named BIG EAST Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season and the fifth time in her career after a triple jump meet record of 13.03m, placing her first in the BIG EAST and 27th in the NCAA. Bernstein earned BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week after a season-best performance in the weight throw, ranking second in the BIG EAST and 46th nationally.
At last year's Badger Windy City Invite, DePaul posted strong marks, with Bernstein winning the weight throw with a school-record 21.65m. Brown topped his own 60m hurdles school record for the third time that season, finishing in 7.68—placing him 10th nationally.
