DePaul Set to Compete at BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships

Blue Demons Co-Host Fourth Consecutive Indoor Championships at Gately Park
CHICAGO – DePaul track and field is set to compete in the 2025 BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, Mar. 1 at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park. Both days of competition will be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports.
General admission tickets start at $15 for a single-day pass, while all-session two-day passes are available for $25. More ticket information can be found here. Friday's events begin at 1 p.m. CT, while Saturday's kickoff at 11 a.m. CT.
This marks the fourth consecutive BIG EAST Championship hosted at DePaul's home track, Gately Park, a 139,000-square-foot facility featuring a hydraulically banked 200-meter track, eight sprint lanes, field event areas, and a seating capacity of 3,500. At the 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Championships, the DePaul's men's team finished fifth overall, while the women's team placed fourth. The Blue Demons shattered four school records and secured three event titles. Kash Allen won the women's shot put with a mark of 15.02m. Darius Brown dominated the men's 60m hurdles, setting a BIG EAST Indoor Championship and school record at 7.63. The women's 4x800m relay squad, featuring returners Isabella Orozco, Sonja Nagle, and Meghan Dieball, finished third, breaking a school record at 8:50.42. The men's 4x400m relay team of returners Brown, Charles Lewis, Daniel Fasasi, and Joshua Edmonds secured a BIG EAST title with a time of 3:13.10.
The 2025 indoor season saw multiple school records fall and several first-place performances. In the men's 60m dash, Demetrius Rolle sprinted to a new school record, crossing the line in 6.72 (1st in BIG EAST). In the 60m hurdles, Brown showcased his speed with a time of 7.61 (1st in BIG EAST, tied for 10th in NCAA Division I). Dustin Hudak delivered a record-setting season, rewriting DePaul's history in the 600m, 800m, and 1000m. His 800m time of 1:47.94 placed him 3rd in the BIG EAST and 45th in NCAA Division I. Jaiah Hopf extended her dominance in the triple jump, winning the event at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic with a leap of 13.03m (1st in BIG EAST, 32nd in NCAA Division I). Damian Rodriguez also etched his name into DePaul history, setting a new school record in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:02.75.
With an impressive 15.51m throw, Kash Allen secured the top spot in the BIG EAST for the women's shot put. Claire Dunn and Jetta Mays proved to be key contenders in the 200m, both ranking among the top five in the BIG EAST. In the men's 400m, Tyce Smith clocked 48.13, placing 5th in the conference.
In field events, Alex Bernstein led the BIG EAST in the weight throw with a 20.92m mark (41st in NCAA Division I). Jaiden Gary dominated shot put, throwing 18.58m to top the conference rankings (42nd in NCAA Division I). On the women's side, Allen ranked 1st in shot put and 2nd in weight throw, recording a season-best 17.58m in the weight throw.
DePaul's relay teams have remained strong throughout the season. The men's 4x400m squad of Brown, Lewis, Bush, and Smith recorded a season-best 3:16.08 (3rd in BIG EAST), while the women's team of Motes, Moll, Nagle, and Dunn captured a Windy City Invite victory with a time of 3:43.54 (3rd in BIG EAST).
