
DePaul Opens Home Slate Against Seton Hall

CHICAGO – DePaul softball (10-11, 0-3 BIG EAST) welcomes Seton Hall (10-9, 3-0 BIG EAST) to Cacciatore Stadium March 14-16 for their home-opening series. Play commences Friday at 1 p.m., Saturday at noon., and Sunday at 11 a.m. Friday's game will be streamed on BIG EAST Digital Network, while Saturday and Sunday will be aired on FloCollege.
New this season, admission will be complimentary for all DePaul softball games at Cacciatore Stadium. Fans can learn more about giveaways and events at the ballpark here.

DePaul will travel south to local rival UIC on Tuesday, March 18 at 4 p.m., before hosting Providence March 21-23 at Cacciatore Stadium. Saturday, March 22 marks Senior Day, where the Blue Demons will celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of their five seniors. Fans are advised to arrive early, and will receive a senior poster while supplies last.

BLUE DEMON BITS
- Freshman Zoe Levine leads the squad with a .321 batting average and five multi-hit games, the only freshman to start all 21 games for the Blue Demons
- Bettendorf, Iowa native Bella Nigey owns a staff-best 1.88 ERA, throwing 48.0 innings, and allowing 21 runs on 44 hits
- Morgan Rogers is a perfect seven for seven on stolen base attempts, tied for fourth in the BIG EAST
- Redshirt sophomore Kali Blount has notched seven doubles, good for third in the league, while averaging a .304 mark at the plate
- Senior mainstay Baylee Cosgrove has logged a team-leading 18 hits
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
- The Pirates were selected to finish fifth in the conference, returning 2024 Rookie of the Year Katey Brennan and two first-team All-BIG EAST selections in pitcher Kelsey Carr and first baseman Olivia Gilbert
- Seton Hall earned a series sweep against Georgetown to open league play, including victories in five innings on Saturday and Sunday, with their 14 runs on Sunday marking a season-high
- Graduate student Kelsey Carr tops the squad with a .358 batting average, and is tied for first in the league with six home runs
- Carr also owns a team-best 3.31 ERA, with a 7-2 tally as the pitcher of record
- The Pirates hold the top fielding percentage through the first weekend of conference play at .986, and the second-best batting average at .417, behind only Butler
- DePaul holds the advantage in the all-time series, 31-12, with a 12-6 record at home
- The Blue Demons' most recent single-game win was a 6-2 victory in South Orange, N.J. on May 4, 2024
- The last series win for DePaul came in 2022, a three-game sweep on the road, and the Blue Demons have not won a series at home against the Pirates since 2014
