DePaul Readies for UConn Series

CHICAGO – DePaul softball is set to host UConn for a three-game series April 18-19 in Lincoln Park. The sides will play a doubleheader beginning at 1p.m. Friday, with the second game set to commence approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. The first pitch for the final game of the weekend is slated for Saturday at 11 a.m. All three games will stream on FloSports.

On Saturday, fans can join DIBS for an egg hunt throughout Cacciatore Stadium, and receive autographs from the team following the game.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES

UConn is on a three-game winning streak, scoring 33 runs against Providence in two days, after falling to the Friars in the series-opening game
Six of UConn's regular starters are batting above .300 at the plate, including Kaitlyn Breslin and Grace Jenkins, who lead the way with .411 and .403 averages, respectively
Breslin received national Player of the Week recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, after hitting four home runs in a single game against Creighton to tie the NCAA record
Payton Kinney leads the Huskies with a 1.92 ERA, good for 40^th in the country, along with three complete games and two saves

DePaul holds the all-time series advantage, 21-12, despite losing the first pair of games between the sides in Sacramento, California on March 20, 1994
The Blue Demons are 12-1 at home against the Huskies, with their lone loss at Cacciatore Stadium on April 30, 2023

UP NEXT
DePaul heads to Illinois on Tuesday, April 22 for another midweek battle, before returning home to host Creighton April 25-27 for its final home series of 2025. On Friday, April 25, fans can donate ten dollars to Cal's Angels h ere, an organization that grants wishes to those with pediatric cancer, for ten swings during the postgame home run derby. On Sunday, April 27 fans can bring their furry friends out to Cacciatore Stadium for Bark at the Park.
