Previdi Captures Win, Blue Demons Excel Across Two Meets

Distance squad impresses in Calif.; throwers, runners, hurdles impress in Indiana
AZUSA, Calif. / TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – DePaul track and field wrapped up a busy Friday with standout performances at both the Gibson Invitational in Indiana and the Bryan Clay Invitational in California.
At the Gibson Invitational, William Previdi claimed first place in the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:27.90, securing 10 points toward the team total. Griffin Lehnhardt followed with a fifth-place showing in the men's 5000m, clocking 15:10.66. In the women's 5000m, Sara Cordova (31st, 19:15.46), Grace Havern (37th, 19:35.53), and Gianna Sanchez (44th, 20:35.24) led the way for the Blue Demons.
In the field events, Jessica Beckman finished third in the women's discus throw invitational with a mark of 47.93m, while Sergio Ayala (13th, 44.09m) and Jaiden Gary (19th, 38.89m) competed in the men's discus throw. On the women's side, Laila Richardson threw 38.46m for 18th place, and Kylee Stammer recorded a season-best 35.79m for 21st.
In the women's javelin, Charlotte Anderson secured a fifth-place finish with a season-best throw of 41.55m, while Ella LeRoy placed seventh at 40.77m. Kash Allen rounded out the group in 23rd at 30.53m.
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Damian Rodriguez delivered a strong performance in the men's 1500m invite section, placing sixth overall with a time of 3:48.92. Isabella Orozco won her heat of the women's 1500m invite section, clocking a collegiate personal best of 4:22.90.
