Roe Breaks 20-Year Old School Record in Final Day of Chicagoland Championships

WHEATON, ILL. – DePaul track & field freshman Tessa Roe broke a 20-year old program record Saturday afternoon on the final day of the Chicagoland Championships. Roe won the women's 3000m with a time of 9:38.20, besting the previous record set by Erin Moffett in 2004 of 9:56.72.
Damian Rodriguez joined Roe at the top of the podium as the winner in the men's 3000m, notching a time of 8:28.20. Mason Krieg finished sixth in the event with a personal-best time of 8:40.76.
Leandria Elam kicked off the final day of competition with a win in the women's 100-meter hurdles, pulling in a time of 14.84. The strong day for Blue Demon hurdlers continued as Alyssa Leak ran a personal-best 1:02.51 to win the women's 400-meter hurdle contest. On the men's side, Harper Bryan finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.13.
