DePaul Rounds Out Season at Georgetown

CHICAGO – DePaul travels to BIG EAST opponent Georgetown May 2-3 for its final series of the season. The weekend schedule has been adjusted due to inclement weather in the Washington D.C. area. The sides will play a doubleheader Friday beginning at 11 a.m. CT, and one game Saturday, also slated for 11 a.m. CT. BLUE DEMON BITS

Leadoff hitter Baylee Cosgrove tops the squad with a .324 average at the plate, and also leads the team in hits (45), doubles (12), and on-base percentage (.423)
Her 12 doubles rank second in the BIG EAST, while teammate Kali Blount sits in sixth with ten doubles of her own
Cosgrove is also the only Blue Demon to start all 45 games in the field, with freshman Zoe Levine starting 44 games at catcher and one as designated player
Junior Bella Nigey has notched 67 strikeouts, good for third in the league, along with a staff-best 3.54 ERA

SCOUTING THE HOYAS

The Hoyas rank just below DePaul in stolen bases, reaching 35 times on 39 attempts, while the Blue Demons have stolen 38 bases on 47 attempts
A trio of Hoyas are batting above .300, Emily Strittmatter (.319), Abby Kozo (.306) and Brooke Rebhan (.302)
Strittmatter leads Georgetown in nearly every offensive category, including on-base percentage (.402), slugging percentage (.611), RBIs (27), runs (29), and hits (36)
Former DePaul associate head coach Karla Ross is in her first season at the helm of the Hoyas

DePaul leads the all-time series against the Hoyas, 30-5, tallying a 13-1 mark on the road
The Blue Demons have won nine of the last ten meetings, with Georgetown emerging victorious just once since 2018, on March 9, 2024
