Women’s Soccer Hosts Villanova in Annual Kick Cancer Match

Blue Demons seek momentum boost against Wildcats in Lincoln Park
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer plays host to Villanova on Wednesday, Oct. 1, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. CT at Wish Field in Lincoln Park. Fans can follow the action on Marquee Sports Network and StatBroadcast.
Wednesday's match will be DePaul's annual Kick Cancer Match, encouraging fans to support the fight against cancer by wearing a colored ribbon.
DePaul (3-6-1, 0-1-1 BIG EAST) earned its first conference point of the year with a 1-1 draw at Butler on Sept. 24. Sophomore Tewabech Seerup netted her first career goal in the 69th minute, while goalkeeper Maddie Iro made her first start in net and recorded five saves. Iro's performance earned her a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll; her first career weekly honor.
Villanova (6-5, 1-2 BIG EAST) enters Wednesday on a two-match skid following shutout losses to Creighton and No. 24 Xavier. The Wildcats' last goal came on Sept. 20 in their BIG EAST opener when Gabby Koluch converted a free kick against Seton Hall.
