DePaul Softball Begins BIG EAST Play Against Villanova

Blue Demons seek first series win against the Wildcats since 2022
CHICAGO – DePaul softball is set to open BIG EAST play at home this weekend March 6-8 against Villanova.
First pitch against the Wildcats on Friday is at 1 p.m. CT, while Saturday and Sunday's matchups are both set for 12 p.m. Admission at Cacciatore Stadium is free for all fans.
All three games this weekend will be streamed on ESPN+, and live stats can be followed here.

- DePaul leads the BIG EAST and ranks top-25 nationally with 38 stolen bases, matching the team's total from all of last season.
- The Blue Demons rank second in the BIG EAST with 155 total hits, led by sophomore Chelsea Parker batting .414 with 24 hits.
- Lydia Ettema and Chelsea Parker rank first and second in the BIG EAST in RBIs with 21 and 20, respectively.
- Sophomore Hannah Messer has been dominant in the circle with a 2.35 ERA and 36 strikeouts.
