DePaul travels to Omaha for final BIG EAST series

CHICAGO – DePaul softball wraps up the 2026 regular season this weekend, traveling to Omaha, Neb., for a three-game BIG EAST series against Creighton at Creighton Softball Stadium May 1-3.

Friday's series opener is set for 6 p.m. CT. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 2 p.m., followed by Sunday's season finale at 12 p.m. CT. All three games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Demon Doings

DePaul enters the final weekend of the regular season with a 19-28 overall record and a 7-14 mark in BIG EAST play. The Blue Demons dropped their non-conference finale to Notre Dame Wednesday in a highly-contested 9-8 decision at Melissa Cook Stadium.
Sophomores Jolie Adams and Chelsea Parker pace the Blue Demons offensively. Adams leads the team with a .403 batting average, which ranks third in the BIG EAST, while Parker has tallied a team-best 24 extra-base hits, including 14 home runs.
In the circle, senior Kelly Greene leads the pitching staff with a 5.04 ERA, while senior Bella Nigey has recorded a team-high 58 strikeouts to just 37 walks.
DePaul ranks second in the BIG EAST with 65 stolen bases, its highest total since the 2009 season.
As a team, the Blue Demons are batting .285, their best average since the 2022 campaign.

Scouting Creighton

Creighton enters the final weekend of play with a 27-24 overall record and a 15-6 mark in BIG EAST play to sit tied for second in the league standings.
The Bluejays rank second in the conference with a .314 team batting average led by sophomore Tara Vandewater and her .374 average. Vandewater has totaled 55 hits, including a team-high 23 extra-base hits.
Freshman Audrey Gilman anchors the pitching staff with a 4.51 ERA and 83 strikeouts, compiling a 14-8 record across 34 appearances.
Head coach Krista Wood is in her fourth season leading the Creighton program.

Series Stuff

DePaul leads the all-time series against Creighton, 23-18.
The Blue Demons will look to snap a six-game skid against the Bluejays this weekend.
